Ravi Uppal, co-promoter of the Mahadev online betting app, was arrested in the UAE by authorities based on an Indian Interpol Red Notice, with Indian agencies initiating extradition proceedings.
The arrest follows the recent return of his associate Saurabh Chandrakar from Oman to Delhi on November 1 after an Omani court allowed his extradition in an Enforcement Directorate money-laundering case.
A special court in Raipur granted the Central Bureau of Investigation eight-day custody of Chandrakar, as investigative agencies state the app generated crime proceeds worth ₹80,000 crore since 2019.
