The City of Liverpool College announced it will scrap its A-level provision for the 2026/27 academic year, impacting an estimated 80 to 90 students.
Principal Elaine Bowker stated the decision was due to falling applicant numbers and the need to prioritize oversubscribed technical and vocational courses, such as health and social care.
While students currently in their second year of A-levels will be supported to finish their studies, the college is working to find alternative placements for new students affected by the cancellation.
