IAF Wing Commander Arrested for Alleged Honey-Trapping and Espionage

An Indian Air Force Wing Commander was arrested on May 30, 2026, for allegedly sharing sensitive defence information with a Pakistani intelligence operative after being honey-trapped via social media.

The officer, who was posted at a field unit on the Western Front, was booked under the Official Secrets Act following an investigation by the IAF intelligence wing and Delhi Police.

Authorities submitted a charge sheet to the competent court on July 30, 2026, and the case is currently sub judice as security agencies increase scrutiny of social media-based targeting of personnel.
