The Centre informed the Supreme Court that the high-powered panel led by Nandan Nilekani is likely to submit its first interim report by the end of this month.
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta stated that the panel held exhaustive consultations and reviewed suggestions from an earlier committee led by K Radhakrishnan.
The Supreme Court bench stressed the importance of institutionalising the entire NTA process with a permanent setup, permanent staff, and minimal deputation.
