IIT Bombay resumed its mid-semester examinations on October 10 and 11 following a suspension after student Sahil Wakode died by suicide on September 18.
Students and teaching assistants were instructed to report half an hour early, leave phones outside, and undergo checks for unauthorised material.
The institute reverted to its 2015 punishment rules for academic malpractice, carrying comparatively lenient penalties than the July 2026 guidelines.
