Waheeda Rehman cast as Gandhi's mother in Sudhir Mishra film

Veteran actor Waheeda Rehman has joined the cast of Sudhir Mishra's upcoming period drama to play Mohandas Gandhi's mother, Putlibai.

The film is headlined by Manoj Bajpayee portraying the freedom fighter and explores a lesser-known 21-day chapter from Gandhi's life.

Produced by Anubhav Sinha and Narendra Hirawat under A Benaras Mediaworks production, the project marks a return to the set for Rehman after her iconic career in classic Indian cinema.
