Meghalaya Launches Intensified HIV Awareness Campaign 3.0

Meghalaya will launch a two-month statewide HIV awareness campaign on Wednesday, targeting youth and vulnerable communities to improve early testing and reduce social stigma.

Data from the Meghalaya AIDS Control Society as of November 2025 shows over 10,000 people, including nearly 500 children, have been diagnosed with HIV/AIDS in the state.

The initiative will utilize rallies, digital platforms, and folk performances to promote the National AIDS Helpline 1097, with East Jaintia Hills identified as a primary area of concern.
