IIT Bombay Issues Anti-Discrimination Guidelines on Caste and Ranks

IIT Bombay issued anti-discrimination guidelines advising students, faculty, and staff against asking peers about their birth category or JEE ranks.

The institute noted that such inquiries, even out of curiosity, can lead to subconscious bias and negatively impact student welfare.

Violations of the new communication policies regarding abusive or casteist messaging can lead to severe disciplinary punishment.
