The Keralam government will introduce a Bill in the next Assembly session to regulate exorbitant treatment costs and room rents in private hospitals, Health Minister K. Muraleedharan announced on Monday.
The minister noted that the state agrees in principle to regulate private hospitals managed by foreign companies and private equity firms where rising costs often encounter claim rejections from insurers.
Additionally, the government launched a pilot project across Vattiyurkavu, Idukki, and Nilambur to conduct household surveys for early screening and control of lifestyle diseases.
