
The WHO and Africa CDC have called for an immediate scale-up of Ebola response efforts in the DRC, where 3,973 confirmed cases and 1,801 deaths have been reported.
As of August 4, the DRC recorded 99 new cases and 52 deaths in a single 24-hour period, with North Kivu treatment centers operating at 139% capacity.
Ituri Province remains the epicenter, accounting for nearly 90% of confirmed cases, while contact follow-up across the country has fallen to 75%, below the 95% target.
