The Paralympic Committee of India recommended a lifetime ban for 40-year-old para swimmer Mohammad Shams Aalam Shaikh following sexual misconduct allegations.
Shaikh was arrested by local police in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, after being accused of harassing a female hotel employee where the Indian contingent was staying.
The athlete, who had not yet competed at the ongoing Asian Para Games, was sent back to India by the Chef de Mission.
