The Free Trade Agreement between India and the European Union will be signed on December 16, 2026, according to two diplomatic sources.

The signing will coincide with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's back-to-back trips in December to Canada, the U.S., and Belgium for trade negotiations.

Because the deal received majority support in Europe, it will not require separate individual ratification by each EU country once approved by the European Council.
