The Supreme Court on Friday refused to reopen investigations into FIRs registered over July protests led by the Cockroach Janta Party.
A bench comprising Chief Justice Surya Kant and justices Joymalya Bagchi and V Mohana stated the September 1 order used Article 142 to spare young students and parents prolonged litigation.
The latest petition was filed by L Ramanathan through advocate Mathews J Nedumpara, arguing the court encroached on independent police authority.
