
An earthquake of magnitude 4.9 struck Chamoli in Uttarakhand around 10.20 pm on Tuesday at a depth of 13 kilometres, sending tremors to Delhi and adjoining areas.
The National Center for Seismology confirmed the seismic event at 10.40 pm, while residents on social media reported feeling furniture move.
Earlier on Tuesday, a separate 4.5-magnitude earthquake occurred in Assam's Nagaon district at 4.23 am at a depth of 33 kilometres.
