US President Donald Trump is expected to sign the Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026, which permits tariffs of up to 100 percent on countries purchasing Russian energy, including India.
The legislation cleared the House with a 262-159 vote after passing the Senate on August 7, and targets countries importing over 15 percent of Russian natural gas unless granted exemptions.
