Andhra Pradesh's ruling TDP-led alliance won seven of 13 municipal corporations and bagged 75 out of 86 municipalities and nagar panchayats, with chairpersons elected uncontested across 17 entities.
In YSR Kadapa district, the bastion of opposition YSRCP and former CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the party won just seven of 279 municipal wards while the ruling alliance claimed six municipalities uncontested.
While the ruling alliance hailed the verdict as public faith in its leadership, YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy alleged widespread manipulation of the election process and called for electoral reforms.
