BJP MPs demanded an apology from Meta chief Mark Zuckerberg during a Monday meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Communications and Information Technology.
The demand follows the temporary removal of a video of Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Facebook, which Meta admitted was missing for five hours between 12:30 a.m. and 5 a.m.
Committee chairperson Nishikant Dubey warned that Meta could face the withdrawal of 'safe harbour' protection under Section 79 if the company fails to provide a full audit trail and an apology.
