Brendon McCullum Endorses Harry Brook as Future England Test Captain

England white-ball coach Brendon McCullum has publicly backed 27-year-old Harry Brook to eventually lead the Test team, despite Joe Root currently holding the captaincy.

McCullum confirmed that Stephen Fleming will succeed him as the red-ball coach for the tour of South Africa in December 2026, following the upcoming Pakistan series.

The transition follows a four-year tenure for McCullum, who will continue to work closely with Fleming to align England's strategy across all three formats of the game.
