New York Governor Kathy Hochul declared a statewide disaster emergency on Monday following 108 reported measles cases in the state this year.
Between July 15 and the declaration, 92 cases were reported across 18 New York counties, while Pennsylvania reported 977 cases near the New York border.
The emergency order mandates that all measles-mumps-rubella shots be reported to New York state or city immunization registries within 72 hours.
