A Karachi football team travelling to Quetta for the Chief Minister’s Gold Cup was robbed at gunpoint by around 12 armed men between Mastung and Sariab on Monday.
The attackers forced passengers off their bus, struck some with weapon butts, and stole mobile phones, cash, and valuables, leaving the players stranded without money.
Balochistan's sports minister intervened to provide daily allowances after the squad reported the incident, which occurred despite warnings from the Sindh Football Association against road travel.
