Gurugram Power Outage Sparks Protests As Employees Strike Against Privatisation

Employees of Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam went on a strike on Thursday against the government's decision to privatise the power distribution system in Gurugram and Nuh.

The strike plunged Gurugram, Faridabad, and Nuh into darkness from 10 pm on Wednesday, with the power department receiving 3,000 complaints within 12 hours.

Angered by the outage and unanswered calls, villagers sat on the Daulatabad Flyover on Thursday and blocked the road, causing a traffic jam before police dispersed them.
