Minibus Crash in Central Zimbabwe Kills 27 Churchgoers

At least 27 people died in a head-on collision between a minibus taxi and a haulage truck near Chivhu, Zimbabwe, at approximately 18:30 GMT on Friday.

Police spokesperson Paul Nyathi confirmed the crash occurred 140km south of Harare when the truck attempted to overtake another vehicle, killing 23 people instantly at the scene.

The victims were members of an African Christian denomination traveling to a conference, marking another deadly incident on Zimbabwe's road network, which has seen multiple fatal crashes this year.
