A violent gunfight between two armed groups in Manipur’s Senapati district on August 24, 2026, left a CRPF jawan injured and multiple houses set on fire in the Taphou Kuki village area.
The clash led to the immediate blockage of National Highway-2, disrupting transport and forcing local authorities to deploy additional security forces to contain the escalating situation.
The Village Authority has condemned the targeted burning of homes, while police continue to investigate the origins of the conflict to prevent further retaliatory violence in the region.
