DMK leader and former Tamil Nadu School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi was arrested by the Chennai Central Crime Branch in a ₹100 crore school recognition scam case.
The arrest followed the Madras High Court's dismissal of his anticipatory bail petition after the state government opposed the plea terming it financial terrorism.
Three co-accused have already been arrested for allegedly collecting funds from over 1,000 private school managements in exchange for permanent government recognition.
