A UPSC aspirant sold his entire collection of books, notes, and mock tests to a scrap dealer for ₹464 after failing to clear the Prelims in 2026.
The candidate, who had reached the Mains stage in 2023, 2024, and 2025, decided to end his preparation journey after four consecutive attempts.
Reflecting on the emotional toll, the aspirant noted he had previously turned down a high-paying job in 2022 to focus exclusively on the examination.
