Supreme Court to Review OBC Creamy Layer Income Test Ruling

The Supreme Court will consider forming a Bench to hear the Centre's plea for clarification on the March 11 judgment regarding OBC creamy layer exclusion criteria.

The Department of Personnel and Training argued that retrospective implementation of the Rohith Nathan judgment would cause a cascading effect on settled services dating back to 2012.

The government claims the ruling could trigger widespread legal challenges from individuals denied Non-Creamy Layer certificates across all categories, including the Unreserved category, during past recruitments.
