Kenya confirmed its first imported Ebola case on Tuesday after a citizen arriving from Congo via Uganda passed away at Nairobi Hospital on Monday.
Health authorities placed 28 contacts and 23 flight passengers in isolation for 21 days while monitoring for potential further cases.
The ongoing outbreak in eastern Congo is driven by the rare Bundibugyo virus, which lacks approved vaccines or treatments.
