Kolkata-born artist Shipra Bhattacharya is showcasing a retrospective of nearly five decades of her work, spanning from the late 1970s to 2026, at Chennai's Lalit Kala Akademi.
The exhibition features diverse media including pen and ink, oil on canvas, acrylic, and bronze sculptures exploring themes of desire, female interiority, social struggle, and war.
Among the prominent works on display is the 2008 canvas 'Taposhi', which responds to the turbulence of the Singur movement in West Bengal.
