British Airways Flight Declares Emergency and Makes U-Turn to U.K.

British Airways Flight BA295 declared a mid-air emergency and made a U-turn back to the U.K. on October 5, 2026, just an hour after departing London's Heathrow Airport for Chicago.

Flight tracking data showed the Boeing 777-200ER aircraft dropped 28,000 feet to an altitude of 9,000 feet within minutes while flying over Ireland after reaching a cruising altitude of 37,000 feet.
