Anuradha Kapur Reimagines Mahesh Elkunchwar’s Wada Trilogy in Virasat

Director Anuradha Kapur staged a three-hour adaptation of Mahesh Elkunchwar's Wada trilogy, titled Virasat, at New Delhi's Sunder Nursery.

Commissioned by the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, the production utilizes a hyper-realistic arena set by Deepan Sivaraman to immerse audiences within a feudal family's fading estate.

The narrative chronicles the post-independence transformation and decay of the Deshpande family from the 1970s through the 1990s amidst agrarian and social upheaval.
