The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation reported that cases of malaria, leptospirosis, and Covid-19 more than doubled in July compared to June figures.
Malaria cases rose from 655 to 1,380, leptospirosis from 33 to 78, and Covid-19 from 27 to 58, while dengue cases increased from 266 to 466.
Civic teams surveyed 659,316 households and identified 5,969 breeding spots for anopheles mosquitoes, removing 2,535 discarded tyres to curb vector-borne disease spread.
