Two oil tankers caught fire in the Strait of Hormuz after striking naval mines while attempting to transit through unauthorised routes, according to Iran's Revolutionary Guards.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps stated that the tankers committed multiple violations, including switching off their navigation and positioning systems.
The US military reported that it separately disabled a St. Kitts-flagged cargo vessel in the Gulf of Oman using precision munitions after it visited an Iranian port.
