Uttar Pradesh CEO Orders Legal Action Over Pilibhit Voter List Irregularities

Uttar Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa ordered legal action on Wednesday against current and former election officials responsible for electoral roll discrepancies in Pilibhit constituency 127.

An investigation revealed that a computer operator entered 13,779 Form-8 applications between May 31 and August 29, 2026, without corresponding office records, resulting in 10,470 erroneous entries.

The Election Commission directed legal proceedings under Section 32 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950, and ordered district officials across the state to investigate similar entries.
