The Indian rupee fell 3 paise to provisionally close at 94.92 against the U.S. dollar on Monday, snapping its six-session winning streak.
The currency was pressured by persistent foreign institutional investor outflows, elevated crude oil prices, and a sharp decline in domestic equity markets.
Analysts note that while Reserve Bank of India measures help manage short-term movements, sustainable recovery depends on improving global fundamentals and lower oil prices.
