UP CEO Orders Statewide Probe into Voter-List Irregularities

Uttar Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa ordered a statewide probe into voter-list irregularities after finding over 10,000 unauthorized voter detail changes in Pilibhit.

Rinwa stated that the irregularities were not mistakes but criminal acts, prompting legal action and departmental proceedings against responsible Electoral Registration Officers and computer operators.

The inquiry was launched following a Samajwadi Party memorandum and has been extended to examine all assembly constituencies across Uttar Pradesh.
