India Sends First Consignment of Bailey Bridge Components to Nepal

India handed over the first consignment of components for a 70-metre Bailey bridge to Nepal's Road Division in Hetauda to restore connectivity in the flood-affected Betrawati area.

Flash floods that struck Nepal on August 26 killed nearly 1,400 people and left more than 5,000 missing, prompting ongoing humanitarian support from New Delhi.

The Ministry of External Affairs stated that India has deployed 54 expert personnel and dispatched over 130 tonnes of relief material, including rescue equipment and temporary shelters.
