The Korea Exchange is extending local stock trading through 8 p.m. starting Monday to attract sustained demand from global investors during European business hours.
The expansion opens approximately 2,400 Kospi and Kosdaq stocks, including short-selling, following a prior alternative system rollout, though ETFs remain excluded for now.
Market analysts note that while the move improves accessibility and price transparency, low off-peak liquidity and currency hedging costs remain key risks.
