Researchers from Karolinska Institutet and Stockholm University have developed 'Pasta', a tool that estimates a cell's biological age by analyzing gene activity patterns.
The study, published in Advanced Science, identified pralatrexate as a substance that accelerates cellular aging and piperlongumine as one that promotes a more youthful state in human cells.
The tool was developed using gene activity data from over 17,000 healthy tissue samples and analyzed more than three million gene profiles to track cellular aging mechanisms.
