Actor Radhika Apte stated that female stars in Hindi cinema are often compelled to appear in male-led films for successful theatrical releases.
Apte noted that secure box-office openings for female-led theatrical films generally require top stars like Alia Bhatt or Deepika Padukone.
Apte stars in the upcoming 1980s-set Netflix gangster drama series Akka, which premieres on October 30.
