Centre's report reveals women account for 43% of workforce in India's Ayush services sector

A new assessment report released by the Central government on Ayurveda Day 2026 shows that women comprise 43% of the workforce in India's Ayush services sector.

The sector, valued at $36.92 billion in 2024-25 with a 16.91% compound annual growth rate since 2022-23, supports 1.76 million livelihoods across healthcare and wellness.

Women's representation exceeds 60% in spas and wellness resorts, 58% in educational institutions, 57% in day-care centres, and 53% in hospitals, according to the report.
