The Indian government is reportedly considering a two-year window for Canada's Fairfax Financial Holdings to consolidate its stake in IDBI Bank following its recent acquisition.
Fairfax's investment, valued at approximately ₹53,000 crore, represents one of the largest foreign capital inflows into an Indian lender in recent years.
The consolidation plan is expected to involve either the sale of Fairfax's existing stake in CSB Bank or a potential merger, pending regulatory approval from the RBI.
