Centre denies political clearance for Telangana CM Revanth Reddy's US visit

The Ministry of External Affairs denied political clearance to Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for his official visit to the United States, forcing him to cut short his tour.

The Chief Minister will now return to Hyderabad from London on August 23, 2026, after the central government approved only the United Kingdom leg of his official delegation's itinerary.

Despite the denial, Reddy instructed officials to proceed to the US to finalise partnerships with Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Northeastern University, and Virginia Tech.
