Maharashtra Commissioner Clears 1989 Tata Sons Share Transfer

Maharashtra Charity Commissioner Amogh Kaloti rejected a complaint regarding the 1989 transfer of 833 Tata Sons shares to Naval H. Tata, ruling the transaction legally valid and compliant with regulations.

The complaint was filed on June 10, 2026, by trustee Vijay Singh, whom the Commissioner criticized for acting without informing other trustees, calling his conduct unbecoming of his position.

Tata Trusts stated the ruling vindicated their position, dismissing the allegations as baseless and motivated by malice, while noting that no proceedings under Section 41D were initiated against Singh.
