Tom Cruise starrer Digger opens to $20 million worldwide

Alejandro Inarritu's satire Digger, starring Tom Cruise as an oil tycoon, grossed $20 million worldwide during its opening weekend, falling short of expectations.

The film collected $8 million in North America against trade predictions of $12 million to $15 million, and earned ₹1.55 crore in India.

Trade reports indicate that the $125 million production is projected to lose nearly $150 million following its poor box office run.
