Researchers in Argentina and Brazil have developed a three-question test to evaluate the adaptability of South American rodent species to global warming.
Published in the Journal of Zoology, the method scores diel activity, habitat use, and diet on a scale up to six to categorize species' capacity to adapt.
The study notes global temperatures are projected to rise by 1.5°C to 4.5°C by century's end, threatening up to 15% of global species with extinction.
