India squandered a commanding 3-0 first-half lead built through goals from Harmanpreet Singh and Sukhjeet Singh, before defensive lapses allowed Pakistan to level the score at 3-3 in the 49th minute.
The victory propelled India into the gold medal match against either Malaysia or South Korea, extending their decade-long unbeaten streak against Pakistan to 22 matches.
