FBI arrests Energy Department employee over alleged support for Houthis

The FBI arrested 51-year-old Energy Department electrical engineer Ashton Hamed Ellaboudy for allegedly trying to support Houthi rebels in Yemen.

Investigators stated Ellaboudy purchased explosive precursor chemicals and drone parts, provided communications advice, and traveled to Yemen.

Ellaboudy faces charges of providing material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization following his arrest on Thursday.
