A 30-year-old woman in Kanpur was arrested for allegedly paying ₹6 lakh to domestic help to murder her father-in-law following disputes over lifestyle restrictions.
The victim, a medicine trader, was found dead in his flat after being stabbed 26 times; police confirmed the involvement of hired assailants in the crime.
The accused reportedly orchestrated the killing after the victim installed CCTV cameras in the house, which she perceived as an infringement on her privacy.
