The Manipur government ordered the closure of all schools, colleges, and universities across the state from August 20 to 23 due to the prevailing law and order situation.
The directive, issued by the commissioner of education, applies to all institutions affiliated with the Board of Secondary Education Manipur, CBSE, and other boards.
The shutdown coincides with a 48-hour strike by the Campaign for Just and Fair Delimitation, which is demanding the National Register of Citizens be updated before the Census.
