A 19-year-old factory worker from Odisha named Maheshwar Kanhar died and two others sustained serious injuries following a high-pressure gas leak from a boiler in Kasaragod on Sunday.
The force of the gas discharge threw the victim into a deep poultry waste pit, where two colleagues who attempted to rescue him were also caught in the accident.
Other workers pulled the three victims out and rushed them to the hospital, where Maheshwar died during treatment while critical injured worker Tanuja was shifted to Mangaluru.
